yeah but it brings up a whole lot of questions. Questions such is how did he know about the one piece, what exactly did he think was the one piece. Was the one piece actually even a legendary thing before roger discovered it? Stuff like that. Makes more sense for roger to just openly shout it out as hes about to die since ya know the one piece is supposed to something he found and no one else in history. Roger did not actively go out trying to become a pirate king or finding the one piece he just happened to find it in his quest for exploring.

what you talking about in the beginning of manga Roger said about one piece Randomly but the further story went then oda introduced some randon guy who ask about one piece in manga too, why are you so confuse? and how that guy knows about one piece through newspaper that's in the manga too why are building you're own story and go read it again mate. And someone ask randomly or not it's does not matter because that's the plot to start Great Pirate Era it's doesn't matter if someone asked about it randomly or not it is the Plot that's how story works. you have to introduced some side character to ask about treasure so the story can move further. It makes more sense for Roger to bring it up though. With his death the great pirate era was started, and that era is what brought so many to try and surpass him, which is what he was waiting for. Had he not mentioned it, his execution wouldve been without reason (esp cause his crew and wife wouldve been safer if he died in a less flashy way)

Anime one makes more sense and I like it that way here
